Horizon Continental Technology Showcased Urban NOA Lite at the 2024 Horizon Ecology Conference
On December 27th, 2024, Horizon Ecological Conference was successfully held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The event was themed 'Gathering Strength for Intelligent Driving Journey, Driving towards Higher Goals' and brought together over 300 guests including government leaders, industry experts, and upstream and downstream partners of the industry. As a joint venture and partner of Horizon and Continental Group, Horizon Continental Technology showcased its urban NOA lite products at the event to deeply explore the development trend of intelligent driving products with everyone.
At the event, Horizon organized multiple roundtable discussions with different themes, inviting representatives from OEMs, suppliers, and industry experts for in-depth exchanges. At the sub forum on intelligent driving with the theme of the Present and Future of NOA Era, Mr. Li Biao, CEO of Horizon Continental Technology, attended and had in-depth discussions on product competition, technological roadmap, and development trends of intelligent driving.
Firstly, regarding the issue of whether the intelligent driving function presents homogeneous competition, Li Biao stated that from the perspective of product positioning, urban NOA tends to homogenization, because the problems that all scenario intelligent driving needs to solve in the long time are similar, that is, how to achieve safety, comfort, and convenience in the real world, and currently, the technological roadmap is likely to be homogeneous. However, starting from the product itself, it is very difficult and personalized to define a comfortable and convenient product experience, which may be the biggest difference between different products. In 2024, with the expansion of NOA products from highways to urban areas, the improvement of product performance will show exponential growth. Therefore, in the current market competition, there may be homogenization in intelligent driving configurations, but there are still significant differences in product experience, product performance, and user value.
In the discussion on whether the mainstream technology route of NOA should start from L2+or L4, Li Biao believes that the unique feature of Horizon Continental Technology is that it was jointly established by Horizon and Continental Group. Continental Group has accumulated rich experience in product mass production and engineering in sensors and L2 level intelligent driving systems. The Horizon team has accumulated industry-leading mid to high level intelligent driving product technology, and the two teams will integrate and complement each other's strengths. The core challenges of intelligent driving will mainly revolve around data, talent, and funding. In the future, only by collaborating with customers and partners can these three key elements be gathered, and more enterprises will create value for customers and users.
At the end of the roundtable discussion, Li Biao stated that 2025 will be the most fiercely competitive year for urban NOA, which is the most challenging field in the intelligent driving industry. High computing power products need to provide ultimate performance and experience, and address system generalization issues. Mid computing power products need to be continuously polished under the premise of safety and controllable cost. From the perspective of the price range of vehicle models, urban NOA products have dropped to 150K to 200K yuan models, gradually entering a period of accelerated popularization. As the popularization of intelligent driving in 2025, Horizon Continental Technology will continue to use leading intelligent driving technology and products to assist OEM customers in creating globally leading intelligent driving solutions, allowing more users to enjoy the safety, comfort, and convenience brought by intelligent driving.
